WEEK 1 PRESEASON NEWS
After just 1 game, the Miami Dolphins have already made a few moves. They cut former 2nd round pick Rb Daniel Thomas. Thomas had had multiple oppurtunities to impress, however with new ownership as well as a new coach in Mike Tomlin, his time ran out.
To replace Thomas, Miami recently signed Rb Kendall Hunter who was a casualty of a deep backfield in San Francisco. Miami has big plans for all 3 of their Rbs and hopes Hunter can get acclimated to Miami's system.
Another move was made in the secondary where rookie cb Walt Aikens was shown the door in favor of another rookie cb, Louchiez Pourifoy. This was a move heavily influenced by Coach Tomlin as he prefers to have bigger corners who have solid man coverage abilities.
Its only been one week of preseason but this new miami regime is not wasting time.

DOLPHINS MAKE MOVES
The Miami Dolphins made a few moves prior to kicking off their season. They reached a deal with the New England Patriots, acquiring CB Alfonzo Dennard and LB Jaime Collins. The move cost them DE Olivier Vernon, WR Rishard Matthews and a 4th round pick.
With Miami deep at both wr and dline, they dealt from their strength to address their weakness. Dennard will start opposite of Grimes with Finnegan as the nickel(more on this shortly.) Collins will play MLB for first time, as Miami will put him in the middle spot. Miami has relegated last years starters to backup positions yet the vets seem to understand.
"At the end of the day, coach gonna put best guys out there. if that means its a couple of these youngsters, then im justgonna have to provide them support and be ready in case of injury. winning trumps everything." responded LB Koa Misi. All in all the defense, as well as the team in general have embraced Coach Tomlin's ways.
DOLPHINS WIN SUSPENSE FILLED OPENER.
Miami owner Dan Marino and Coach Tomlin earned their first win together as the Miami Dolphins won 30-27 behind the leg of Caleb Sturgis and his 38yd GW FG as time expired vs the New England Patriots. It was a very back and forth game with both teams able to move the ball well. Miami seemed to find its groove at the same time that Knowshon Moreno did as well. Moreno started hittin the holes and would finish with over 120yds on 17 carries with a TD. Mike Wallace would also make his presence felt. while being covered by Darrelle Revis, Wallace did manage 4 rec for 70yds. But it was on a kickoff in the 3rd where hed impact the game. Wallace took a kick from deep within his own endzone, taking it 105yds for a TD. In the end though, the clutch player was Sturgis. Sturgis would hit from 25yds and 42yds earlier in the windy rain soaked game. With Miami driving late in the 4th Sturgis started warming up. After a failed 3rd down, Sturgis would come out and calmly put the ball between the uprights.
"Every time you can win a game its great. when it happens to be a divisional rival, its crucial. As a kicker, i enjoy those few moments where i get to do my part and help this team win. Today, my number was caled and i was able to come through." said Sturgis after the game.
MAJOR INJURY IN MIAMI SECONDARY
Cortland Finnegan is out. After making an interception in the 3rd qtr vs NE, Finnegan would hit the ground hard, fracturing his collarbone. Hes expected to miss 6 to 8 weeks.
In response there have been trade talks between the Dolphins and the Jags involving CB Darius McCray. Its expected that Miami will send 2 picks in exchange for the young db. Sources close to the team confirmed that Jacksonville will indeed be sitting McCray.

MULTITUDE OF CHANGES IN MIAMI
Where to begin? Its been a crazy week in south beach as the Dolphins have been consistently wheeling and dealing. First, the previously mentioned McCray trade was made official. Miami would then go on to move CB Brent Grimes and Wr Damian Williams to the Green Bay Packers for CB Casey Hayward and Wr Jarrett Boykin.
"These moves were discussed between myself, and Coach Tomlin. He told me to give him a young, hungry defense, and hed provide success. We wish all the best o [Brent] Grimes and [Damian] Williams, we just wanted to go younger, and in terms of Wrs, provide Ryan with larger, more possession type wrs." -Dan Marino, Owner
WHEELER SENT TO THE DESERT
Yet the Dolphins were not done yet this week. They went on to move OLB Phillip Wheeler, who after a disappointing season last year will now be moving to Arizona. In return Miami receives LG Jonathan Cooper, who missed his rookie year with a broken leg.
Miami had become deep at LB with Jelani Jenkins and Jordan Tripp earning opening day starting jobs, and the subsequent trade that brought Jaime Collins here as well. Miami yet continues its youth movement.
TRADES ON THE HORIZON??
Somehow, Miami may not be done. There are rumors going around that RB Knowshon Moreno and FS Louis Delmas may be heading to the rival Jets in exchange for young de/dt Damon Harrison and rookie S Calvin Pryor. Tomlin had become enamored with newly signed RB Lorenzo Taliaferro, and when the Jets GM came asking, Owner/GM Dan Marino started listening. Its said a deal has been reached pending league approval.
And yet one last rumor. CB Janoris Jenkins and DT Aaron Donald also look Miami bound, with Miami sacrificing C Mike Pouncey and 3 picks(two for 2016 draft) along with a project cb, Keith Reaser. If this deal goes through, Miami will instantly become one of the leagues youngest teams....and possibly a monster defensively.
FINAL RECAP
With all these moves, and the impending relocation/rebranding to the Orlando Sentinels, the question now is, can Marino bring Miami a Super Bowl in their last season in South Beach??

THE FINCAP
Miami held on to defeat the Bills in Buffalo today. It was an exciting game as Miami jumped out to a 31-14 lead at halftime, only to become ultra conservative in the 2nd half letting the Bills storm back. Both Tannehill and Manuel threw fr over 300yds, yet both made mistakes with Tannehill throwing 3Ints to Manuels 2. Lamar Miller, who did not start the game contributed 190yds on 7 carries for 2Tds. Spiller would also break 100yds for his team finishing with 105 n 2Tds. Lastly, WR Mike Wallace had a great game with 6 catches for 216yds n 2 TDs as Cb Stephon Gilmore couldnt keep up. THE FINCAP
The Miami Dolphins reached 3-0 with a dominating win vs the Kansas City Chiefs. Jamal Charles broke loose with a 79yd TD run on the second play, but after that Miami would take over, putting up 21 straight points until KC knocked in a FG. By then however it was simply too late.
Miami's defense was simply smothering, forcing numerous three and out drives by the Chiefs. Newcomers Damon Harrison and Calvin Pryor made their presence felt as Harrison would record a sack and Pryor would snag a late INT. Miami dominated T.O.P. and QB Ryan Tannehill had a flawless day, albeit an unspectacular one as he finished 16-23 for 199yds 2TDs and 0INTs.

"Man, when coach told me they were gonna work me hard this week, i was ready. I put in the time watching game tape and it proved to be effective.
